Review : Madeleine Abducted by M.S. Willis

Madeleine, a shy and sheltered musician, becomes a pawn in a lethal and cruel game between father and son. She was intended to become a slave and break down Aaron, an executioner and heir to The Estate. But none of them, not even Maddy herself, could have ever known Maddy’s intelligence, strength, and thirst for justice.

Her name is Madeleine Clark, and when she was abducted, she was not only dragged into hell….. She took over”

Definitely a 5 star book!! While it is a dark and gritty romance, it is brilliantly written. Aaron is an executioner for The Estate, but he is also extremely sensual and hot, and all that sexiness carries through the whole story, as well as a caring and protective side. For those of you sensitive to blood and sexy mixing together, there is A LOT of blood and gore in this one. Personally, I don’t mind, especially when it adds so much to the story. There is also abuse and rape. Again, while these are not the shining light of  humanity, they are really well portrayed as fuel for Maddy’s strength and lust for justice. The scenes between Aaron and Maddy I found to be sweet and sexy at the same time, even through the “slave” issue.  you just “get”why Aaron does the nasty things he does. There is also Xander, ( I loved him as much as I did Aaron) Aaron’s best friend and top guard, who is a great character and the main character in the second installment.  There are a couple of jaw-dropping plot twists, which absolutely stunned me and did not let me put the book down. You know, those I-was-going-to-read-one-more-chapter-and-I-just-need-to-finish-this-book-now kind.  Once you get to these, say goodbye to laundry, dinner and sleep. Personally, that right there makes a book amazing to me. When I can’t tell what is going to happen, when a strict formula isn’t followed, it makes the book come alive for me. While most of these formula-following books are exceptionally good, books like Madeleine Abducted stand out from the rest in these dark-romance types.

Here are some of my favorite excerpts ;

“She was a slave to his lust, while he was a slave to her pain”

Aaron’s smile faltered as he looked down upon the beautiful girl who didn’t fully understand her role. “No, Madeleine, you are not a common household pest…” Maddy looked up at him , anticipating what he would say next. For a fleeting second, he looked genuinely amused, but his expression was quickly replaced with indifference and contempt as he stated “you are lower than even a pest in your role as a slave.”

“But now… now , while in the middle of a nightmare, she found solace in a damaged soul,
